Sue Ellen Lakey

LAKEY, Sue Ellen, age 67, of Beavercreek, formerly of Kettering passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2013. Sue was born on May 27, 1946 in Springfield, OH to the late Robert and Eileen Krause. She worked for many years at Kohl's department store and participated in the "Kohl's for Kids" program. Sue was a strong, hardworking woman who loved sewing, quilting, baking and taking care of her family. She was a proud graduate of Fairmont High School in 1964. She will be missed by all who knew her. Sue is preceded in death by her loving husband, Kenneth Lakey and dog, Bentley. She is survived by her children, Ron (Erin) Dues and John (Cara) Dues; grandchildren, Allison, Emma, Kyle, Austin and Lily Dues; and siblings, Linda (Brandon) Sohl, Robert (Carol) Krause and Debbie (Pete) Brim. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses in the Heart and Vascular Intensive Care Unit at Miami Valley Hospital for their care and compassion. Family will greet friends from 10:00am-11:30pm on Monday, October 28, 2013 at David's Mausoleum Chapel, 4600 Mad River Road, Kettering with a funeral service to follow at 11:30 pm. Entombment in David's Mausoleum.
