Thomas E. Cavellier

CAVELLIER, Thomas E., age 72, of Leesburg OH passed away peacefully on Thursday January 13, 2022 at Ross Cardiac Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
Tom was born on May 24, 1949, in Newton, Massachusetts. Tom graduated Summa Cum Laude from Boston College with degrees in Accounting and Finance. After graduation, Tom went to Officers Candidate School in Fort Sill, Oklahoma and upon graduation, served honorably as a 1st Lt. (artillery) in the U.S. Army from 1972 -1975. Tom earned a Master’s Degree in Finance from Xavier University in 1982.
Toms’ specialty was finance, and he began work at R&L Carriers (Wilmington, Ohio) in their accounting department. He advanced rapidly within R&L ultimately serving as President of R&L until his retirement in 2006. During that time, Tom oversaw the growth of R&L to a billion-dollar company.
Tom was a devout Christian and an avid animal lover. He was an avid sports fan (especially all things Red Sox) as well as a scratch golfer.
Tom’s final gift was his organ donation to Lifeline of Ohio. Tom’s donation will help improve the lives of 24 people. Tom is survived by 5 brothers and sisters as well as his close friend Spencer Lamar.
