William L. O'Neal

O'NEAL, William Lonzo, Sr., age 86, of Dayton, passed away on June 6, 2015 due to complications of Alzheimer's disease. Bill was born to the late Arthur and Clara (Riegelsperger) O'Neal in Dayton, Ohio on April 2, 1929. Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Marilyn; and his siblings, Loretta, Beverly, Betty, Dorothy, and Whitey. He is survived by his son, William, Jr. (Carol); granddaughters, Holly (Jeff) McGlone, Heather (Jeremy) Boniella; great-grandsons, Jonah O'Neal, Bailey and Riley Russell; great-granddogs, Larry and Eugene; brother-in-law, Horace Bear; many nieces and nephews; and special friend, Joy Tyree. Bill lived his entire life in Dayton. He was a WWII Veteran. His working career spanned 55 years. He retired from both Acme Precision and General Motors. He enjoyed working and being busy so he also helped his nephew at JMD Architectural for many years following his retirement. Bill was loved and will be fondly remembered by his many friends. He fostered many friendships through a variety of fraternal organizations. He was always happy to lend a hand and never turned down a request for his help. He loved fishing, playing cards, and horse racing. He would have been pleased to know he passed on Belmont Day with a potential triple crown winner on the line. During his younger years, Bill and his extended family enjoyed their annual RV adventures throughout the United States. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton or St. Leonard's Memory Care Unit. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Hospice of Dayton, the staff at St. Leonard's Memory Care Unit, and the Tyree family for all the kind and loving care they gave to Bill.
