William M. Laing

LAING, William M., ''Bill'', age 77, of Centerville, died Monday, May 13, 2002. Born in Toronto, he grew up in North Bay, Ontario. Bill received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Toronto and retired from the Kimberly-Clark Corporation in 1990. He was a past president of the Paper Industry Manufacturers' Association and the Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry. Bill was a member of the Professional Engineers' Association of Ontario. He was a former Board Member of the Association for Retarded Citizens. Bill served as a pilot in the Royal Canadian Air Force during WWII and was a member of the Hithergreen Aviation Club. He was a member of Southminster Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Winnifred Laing (Marr) and his beloved daughter, Carol Laing. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Marion (LeGard); 2 sons, Bruce and his companion Lenore of Milwaukee, WI and Brian and his wife Melissa of Charlotte, NC; 2 daughters, Wendy and husband Andy Zgudziak of Severn Bridge, Ontario, and Heather and husband John Sanderson of Vancouver, British Columbia; grandchildren, McClellan and Jackson Laing and Kyle Zgudziak; 2 sisters, Jeanne Durant of Toronto, Ontario, and Ruth Bertrand of Calgary, Alberta; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM at the Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St., Centerville, with Pastor David L. Jongewaard officiating. Family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial in Centerville Cemetery. If desired, contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 409 E.
