Willis Mccarty

McCarty, Willis, age 84, of Kettering, died Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at Kettering Medical Center. Willis retired from General Motors with 38 years of service. He served in the U. S. Army during WWII Company B, 289th Infantry Regiment, 75th Infantry Division, honorably discharged with three bronze stars and the Purple Heart. He was preceded in death by 6 brothers and one sister. Willis is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Ruth; daughter, Anita (Wayman) Bond, son, Philip (Susan) McCarty, three grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, October 17, 2009 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., in Kettering with Pastor Zary Shealy officiating. Burial will be in Miami Valley Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, October 16, 2009 from 6-8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Southwest Regional Office, 2808 Reading Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45206.
