Winifred Burnett

BURNETT, Winifred “Winnie” Jane (Weaver), age 85, passed away on Monday, May 16, 2005. Mrs. Burnett was a native Daytonian, born on February 13, 1920. She was a 1938 graduate of Oakwood High School and a 1942 graduate of Miami University (Oxford). Mrs. Burnett (Winnie) was also a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority at Miami. She was a member of Fairmont Presbyterian Church, member of the Oakwood Historical Society, an accomplished artist and avid gardener. Her interests in the fine arts, antiques, travel and world affairs complimented her sixty-one years of marriage and family dedication. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Vail Burnett Sr.; parents, Edgar and Henrietta Weaver; uncle, Donald and Ruth Weaver. She is survived by her sons; Robert, William and Richard; first cousin, Jean Weaver-Stone (OHS ’38) of Naples, FL and many cousins and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 19, 2005, at the Woodland Mausoleum Chapel, 118 Woodland Ave., Dayton, with the Rev. Dr. Robert H. Wade officiating. Mrs. Burnett will be buried at Woodland Cemetery following the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a school, university or a community enriching organization in Mrs. Burnett’s memory.
