Mitchell Alec Simmons, age 24, passed away Sunday, May 6th, 2018.
He was a graduate of Beavercreek High School in 2012 and received his BA in Criminal Justice from the Ohio University in 2016. In high school, Mitchell was a kicker for his football team and a member of a number of clubs and organizations. In college, Mitchell was an active member of the Alpha Phi Omega fraternity, a service organization focused on developing leadership and providing service to the community. He was also selected to the Golden Key International Honour Society as a sophomore. Since graduating college, Mitch has been employed at Wright-Patt Credit Union in the Fraud Prevention Department and was recently promoted to the position of Fraud Investigator. Mitch’s passions and interests were many. He was passionate about a huge diversity of things including photography and longboarding. And if he wasn’t doing any of these things, you could likely find him out relaxing in nature. As a child and now as an adult Mitch is known for his handsome smile, his hilarious sense of humor, and his tremendous loyalty to those dear to him.
Mitch is survived and adored by his Mom Kim, his Dad Paul, his step-mom Jessica, his grandparents Jack and Lou, his Aunts Debra (Jonathan) and Michelle (Craig) his half-sister, Katherine, and his two cousins Maddie and Ali. In addition, Mitch is loved and was blessed by countless amazing friends.
Family will greet Mitch’s many friends on Thursday, May 10th from 5:00pm - 9:00pm at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Road, Kettering, Ohio 45249. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Friday, May 11th at Christ Church United Methodist, 3440 Shroyer Rd., Dayton, OH, with Pastor Jenn Lucas officiating. Family Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 12, at the Newport Cemetery in Newport, OH.
