Anna M. "Ann" Newby

NEWBY, Anna M. "Ann", age 76, of Kettering, passed away unexpectedly at home on February 25th, 2016. Ann graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1957 and also Sinclair Community College. She retired from Montgomery County as a Social Worker and also was employed for many years at the Senior Citizen Center in downtown Dayton. Ann was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and belonged to East Dayton Optimists Club and was also a member of the Golden Girls. She had a passion for cooking for family and friends. Ann had a huge heart and would go out of her way to help others, and was a friend to wildlife. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Marie Baker; and sister, Jewel Jean Troup. Ann is survived by her loving husband, James Newby; sons, James (Connie Coffey) Newby and Jay Newby; granddaughters, Lauren (Steve) Jablonski and Allison Newby; grandsons, Jeremy (Shelley Tear) Newby and their son Cory, and Duncan Newby; sister, Mary Cooper; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family will greet friends from 4:00-7:00pm on Friday, March 4th, 2016 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, March 5th, 2016 at Holy Trinity Church, 272 Bainbridge St, Dayton. Private family burial to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420.
