Barbara Ann Luthman

LUTHMAN, Barbara Ann (Hartmeier), age 77, of Kettering, OH, passed away on Monday, December 18, 2017. Barbara was born to Frank J. and Emma Mae Hartmeier on May 19, 1940. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years Dennis; infant son, Robert J. Luthman; son, Michael D. Luthman; and granddaughter, Alexandria Luthman. Barbara was survived by her loving son, David (Sherri) Luthman; devoted daughter, Sherry (Dale Thompson) Girard; granddaughters, Nicole (Matt) Wallace, La Risa, Jessica, and Rebecca Girard; great-granddaughter, Taylor Wallace; loving sisters, Sharon (Gary) McClain and Mary Lou Geisel; many nieces, nephews, and her devoted furry friends, Christy and Buddy. Barbara will be remembered as a loving, giving, and caring person. Always quick to smile, and always there to lend a helping hand when needed. Her greatest joy was cooking, baking, crossword puzzles, putting puzzles together, reading and spending time with her sisters, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. Barbara graduated from John H. Patterson Co-Op High School, in 1958. She met Dennis there and they married on May 28, 1960 at Holy Family Church in Dayton. They spent many years boating on the Ohio River and Lake Erie. She worked as an administrative secretary for the C.J. Unger Mfg. Co. of Dayton, OH for 19 years, retired in 2000. She was a long time member of the Church of the Ascension, Shipmaster, and Red Hat Ladies. Family will greet friends from 10:00-11:30am on Wednesday December 27, 2017 at Church of the Ascension, 2025 Woodman Dr. Kettering, OH. A Prayer Service will be held following visitation.
