KNIESS, Betty Kraft, 96, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2017 at Bethany Village, Centerville.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband Bill and is survived by son, Lee Allen. Also surviving her is nephew Joe and wife Celeste Kniess as well as grand-nephew, Matthew, and niece Barb (Kniess) and husband Dallas Mitchell. She is also survived by goddaughter, Robin McCutchan.
Betty was a 1938 graduate of Roosevelt High School and worked as an executive secretary at General Motors for over 25 years. Betty and her husband Bill were founding members of Fairmont Presbyterian Church in Kettering. She was a member and past Worthy Matron of Victory Chapter # 594 OES, Ambucs , a member of The Dayton Women's Club, the Ladies' Oriental Shrine and a volunteer at the Daybreak homeless shelter. Betty loved working in her yard, attending plays, movies and traveling the world. She visited every European country, Egypt, Japan, India, Morocco, almost every state of the US and many other countries. She traveled the world with confidence and style. There will be a private gravesite service at Miami Valley Memory Gardens where she will be laid to rest next to Bill.
