SYLVA, Bobbye Farris, age 79, of Centerville, OH passed away October 31, 2014 at St. Leonard Health and Rehabilitation Center after a short battle with lung cancer.
She was born January 1, 1935 in Buchanan, TN to the late Henry and Rosalie Farris and graduated Scott High School, Coatesville, PA in 1952.
Bobbye married in 1956, moving to NY and FL before settling in Cincinnati, OH where she took bachelors and masters degrees in public education from the University of Cincinnati. Her career was spent with the Northwest Local School District in Cincinnati, first teaching high school English, later becoming a high school librarian, and also as a library coordinator for the district's 14 schools.
Retiring in 1998, she was lucky to travel through the world and through our beautiful national parks. She moved in 2008 to Centerville to be near her son Ron.
She is survived by her son Ron of Bellbrook, OH, her sister Sue Gerry Priddy of Lancaster County, PA, her sister Wanda Villibrandt of Boynton Beach, FL, brothers James Farris and Warren Farris of Southeast PA, and by her numerous lovely nieces and nephews in PA and FL.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00am on November 6 at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St., Centerville. Family will greet friends for a reception following the service until 12:00noon at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice of Dayton, and the Health and Rehab Center of St. Leonard for all their care and compassion.
