Carl Joseph Monnin

MONNIN, Carl J., age 73 of Beavercreek, passed away on Sunday, August 02, 2009 at Hospice of Dayton. He was a 1952 graduate of Chaminade High School. Carl served our country in the Army as a paratrooper. He worked as a truck driver for Sun Oil, went on to work for Lebanon Power & Light and finally retired from DP&L where he worked as a lineman for over 30 years and was a life time member of the Milton Athletic Club. Carl received the Kettering Mayor's award in 1980. Carl was a member of the Church of the Ascension and member of the K of C. He enjoyed traveling, collecting small antiques and tools. Preceded in death by his parents; Flavian and Bertha Monnin; grandson Charlie Monnin; sister Virginia; and brothers Joseph, Norbert and Robert. Carl is survived by his wife of 46 years, Kathryn (Bereda) Monnin; daughter Christine (Tim) Connors, and their daughter Kaitlyn; son Joseph (Dawn) Monnin and their children, Shelby and Keely; daughter Michelle (Doug) Massie their daughter, Megan; son Daniel (Kelly) Monnin and their children, Drew, Jack and Anna; brothers Marion, Paul (Doris), Norman and Jerome (Grace) Monnin; and his sister Phyllis (George) Beeson. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 7, 2009 at 10:30 AM at the Church of the Ascension, 2025 Woodman Drive, Dayton, OH with Father Chris Worland officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery, Dayton, OH. The family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, OH.
