Clifford Calvin Downard

DOWNARD, Clifford C. age 88, of Trenton, passed peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, November 16, 2020. Clifford was born on August 28, 1932 to the late Clifford and Louise Downard, in New Haven, OH.

After high school, he met the love of his life, Barbara (nee Klamo) Downard and they began their nearly 65 year journey together. Clifford started his career with New York Central Railroad, where he retired after 40 years of service. He was a longtime member and servant of God, as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Clifford’s greatest passions in life were farming and camping with family and friends. Clifford will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Clifford is preceded in death by daughters, Rebecca Downard and Linda Damico; brothers, Denver, Allen Wayne, Jimmy Dale; and sisters, Mary Washmuth and Margie Parker.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years and 11 months, Barbara; sister, Rhonda (James) Huff; children, Steve (Patricia), James (Cindi), and John (Christa); grandchildren, Steven, Kristie, Kimberly, Garrett, Colton, Wyatt, Bailey, Melissa, Dan; 23 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren (with 2 more on the way); and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

A memorial service will be held via Zoom on Saturday, November 28th at 2:00pm. For service details, please email bdownard2@gmail.com.
