Constance C. Klarer

Constance C. Klarer, age 101, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2022. She was born February 27, 1921 in Lansing, Michigan; the daughter of the late Wesley Earl and Nancy Irene (Simpson) Ceeley. Along with her parents, Connie is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, David and brother, Philip Ceeley. She is survived by her children, Nancy (David) Aubel, David (Monica) Klarer, and Ree (Charles) Kenerley; grandchildren, Erik (Claire) Aubel, Corey (Christina) Aubel, Heather (Jeremy) Wilson, Jennifer (Jason) Russell, Kyle Kenerley, and Alec (Haley) Kenerley; great-grandchildren, Vivian, Spencer, Tessa, Lainey, Mia, Callum, Madelyn, and Liam; and sister, Nancy Everhart. After graduating from De Pauw University, Connie worked as a teacher and a church organist for many years. She was deeply involved in her community. She was active in the American Guild of Organists, organizing the National Convention in Dayton. Connie was a Blue Star Mother with five of her grandchildren serving in the military. Her support of the military led to her volunteering at the National Museum of the United States Air Force for 33 years. She was also active at the Carriage Hill Farm, the Dayton Philharmonic program for school children, and was a founding member of St Christopher's Episcopal Church in Fairborn. Connie was proud to be a founding member of Sew Much Comfort which made clothes for wounded veterans. In addition, she was very active in her children and grandchildren’s activities. She and her husband were dog lovers and owned 9 Gordon Setters, 8 of which they rescued. Connie will be dearly missed by her loving family. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. Connie will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband at Byron Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made out to the Foundation of the National Museum of the United States Air Force and St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, Fairborn in memory of Connie.
