LANDON, Dane Paul, age 62, of Washington Township, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018. He was born on December 24, 1955 in Louisville, KY to Joyce and Dr. David Landon.
Dane attended Union City Community High School and then after a family move before his junior year, he graduated from Bloomington High School South in 1974. He then attended Manchester College. He worked for over 15 years at several bookstores, including 10 years at TIS Bookstore at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. Danes many interests included music, reading, military history and politics.
Dane was preceded in death by his father, Dr. David J. Landon. He is survived by his mother, Joyce Landon; brother, David Landon; sisters, Donna L. (John) Beal and Debra L. (John) Jansing; nieces and nephews, Scott (Jessie), Jeff, Ben, Sarah, and Libby; great niece, Stella Jeanne; and his favorite pet, Mollie the West Highland Terrier. Dane was also preceded in death by a chocolate lab named Walker (Dubya), and cats Zelda and Chester, all three of whom Dane loved and cared for.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St., Centerville. Family will greet friends two hours prior to the service (10:00am-12:00 noon) at the funeral home. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers the family would ask that donations be sent in Danes name to (SICSA.org) the Society for the Improvement of Conditions of Stray Animals, a local pet adoption center, 2600 Wilmington Pike, Dayton, OH 45419.
