Denzell J. Slish

Slish, Denzell J. (Berry), age 86, passed away Sunday August 31, 2008 in Centerville, OH. Dennie is preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, John P. Slish in 2002, three brothers and one sister. Dennie retired as a PBX operator and enjoyed being a homemaker and with her husband owned and operated Dayton Reliable Air Filter Service retiring in 1996. Cooking and entertaining were two of her greatest pleasures. Dennie was involved in the Sister City of Oakwood (Outremont of Canada) and the Historical Society of Oakwood, the Dayton Art Institute, Friends of the Smith Gardens, SICSA, volunteered at nursing homes and was a member of the Central Christian Church. The love of her life was her kids and grandkids. Dennie was a very generous and giving person and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Dennie is survived by one daughter and son-in-law; Judy (Frank) Leopard of Kodak, TN, one son and daughter-in-law; Robert (Karen) Berry of Burbank, WA, five grandchildren; Deborah (Ivan) Staley, Lori (Beth Frantz) Shaw, Deanna (Justin) Stallard, Timothy (Bonnee) Berry, and Robin Berry-Smith, eight great-grandchildren; Violet Staley, Evan & Natalie Stallard, Brittany & Erika Sanchez, Robbie, Steve & Lacy Berry. Funeral services will be held 12 Noon Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008 at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd. Kettering, OH with Rev David Turner officiating. Burial will follow in David's Cemetery. The family will receive friends 10 AM to 12 Noon prior to service time at the funeral home.
