HANNAH, Douglas H., age 88, of Dayton passed away on Friday, October 14, 2011.
Douglas was a graduate of Roosevelt High School, class of 1941. He is retired from NCR and GM where he was a Tool Maker and Process Engineer. He was a Charter Member of NCR Country Club, VFW #9927 and American Legion #598. Douglas is a WWII Honoree and has numerous U.S. Military Awards for service with U.S. Army Pacific, Theatre, and WWII which include Army Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, WWII Victory Medal, Philippine Hiberation Medal, WWII Honorable Service Pin, and a Sharpshooter Weapons Qualification Badge.
He was an avid golfer and enjoyed all sports. Doug was known by all of his loved ones and friends as a great story teller and caring family man.
Preceded in death by his parents, William Herbert Hannah and Clara Elizabeth Grace, his first wife Sarah Hannah, step-daughter Shirley Stone, and step-grandson Matthew Johnson. Douglas is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Juanita; daughter, Marylee Kraus of Orlando, FL; son, Michael Hannah of South Orange, NJ; step-son, Don (Joy) Fetzer of Lewisburg, OH; step-daughters, Christy Fetzer of West Carrollton, OH and Carol (Michael) Johnson of West Carrollton, OH; and grandchildren, David, Sarah, Lindsey, Michelle, Leanne, and Jeff.
The family will greet friends from 5:00-8:00pm at ROUTSONG FUNERAL HOME, 2100 East Stroop Rd., Kettering. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00pm on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at St. Albert the Great Church, 3033 Far Hills Ave., Kettering. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
