Drew Francisco Mata

MATA, Drew Francisco, age 18, of Kettering, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Wednesday, December 7, 2022. He was born on January, 6, 2004 in Washington Township, OH. Drew was a Junior at Fairmont High School. Throughout his childhood Drew always looked forward to going to school and loved seeing his friends and teachers. With his signature smile and his contagious laugh, he had no trouble lighting up a room. In his free time, he enjoyed playing soccer on his Hot Wheels team through the Top Soccer Program. Drew loved sports. He enjoyed attending Mason and Olivia’s soccer games when the weather was right and looked forward to watching OSU football on the weekends. When not attending or watching sports, Drew liked to watch and listen to The Wiggles, and in his teen years fell in love with Full House, Price is Right and his go-to movie in the car was The Muppets: Most Wanted. He also enjoyed going on car rides with his dad and listening to Mexican music. Drew is survived by his mother and father, Esther and Frank Mata; his brother, Mason; sister, Olivia; grandparents, Francisco and Emigdia Mata, Sarah Brandenburg, and Ken and Tracy Napier, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. The family will receive friends and family from 1:00-3:00 PM on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd. in Kettering. The family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful help and care given to Drew by The Dayton Children's Hospital Home Care. If desired, friends may bring a newly packaged, but unwrapped, toy, puzzle or book (all ages needed) that will be donated in Drew’s name to The Dayton Children's Hospital.
