Edith "Jean" Willajean Strong

April 1, 1925 — April 20, 2015

STRONG, Edith "Jean" Willajean If you are about to pass up on a bargain at a local garage sale, stop and consider Edith Willajean Strong (you probably know her as Jean) who entered eternal life on Monday, April 20, 2015. Her love is carried on through her 3 surviving children, Scott (Anita) Strong, Kim (Chris) Strong Dybvad, Larry (Susan) Strong and her two children who just greeted her at the Pearly Gates in Heaven, Mike Strong and Norma Jean (Roger) Chandler. Her 10 grandchildren, Aaron (Alicia), Kelly (Brad), Steven, Jamie, Clinton, Jesse (Mary), Ally, Christopher, Zachary and Emily. Her 11 great grandchildren, Caitlin, Braydon, Corynn, Tyler, Taylor, Payton, Ashley, Aubrey, Alex, Savannah, and Jimmy. Her sisters, brothers, and her husband, Walter Marshall Strong, of 44 years whom she just reunited with in Heaven after being apart for over 26 years, and an extended family of relations and friends from every walk of life, including her dear friends, Vicki Epstein and Barbara Beal. We are blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Jean during her 90 years, among us: Always have a gift or a card on hand to bless another one's life who needs some love and compassion. Always make sure that card is full of confetti so the memory of that card will linger days after it's been opened. Always stop a stranger and let them know they are loved by God even if they don't know Him. Leave some nuts on your coffee table and open the door in case that squirrel you have been feeding from your hand gets hungry while you are taking a nap. Never say a mean thing about anyone, they are just another aching heart you need to pray for and share the good news with. If you call your OnStar for directions, before you hang up make sure to ask them if they need directions to Heaven. When someone is in need, take them some homemade soup and biscuits but make sure you leave little notes inside reminding them how important they are to many. Invite the door-to-door salesman in to listen to his sales pitch provided he will listen to yours selling a warranty for your life that has already been paid for by Jesus. If music is playing and it moves you, dance wherever you are as someone may be watching and it will make them smile. Give to every charity that asks. Those who've taken her lessons to heart will continue to ensure that they have cookies and coffee on hand to share with any sales person, friend, visitor, or a stranger that comes to the door, every baby will be kissed, every nursing home resident will be visited, the hungry will have a sandwich, and the encroaching albino squirrel will know there is a meal available at her door step. She is survived by many which you can come and visit with from 4:00pm-8:00pm on Friday, April 24, 2015 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd. Kettering, OH. A funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Cross Point Vineyard Church, 38 N. Main St. (St Rt 48) Centerville, OH. Jean will be laid to rest at David's Cemetery. She touched the lives of those at Lincoln Park Manor and Hospice of Dayton during her last few weeks on this earth spreading the Good News of Jean's best friend, Jesus.
