December 28, 1916 — September 15, 2004

REUTER, Edward W., age 87, of Oakwood, departed this life Wednesday, September 15, 2004 at Hospice of Dayton. Edward was a faithful servant, loving husband and wonderful father. He was a member of Crestwood Evangelical Church, Whiting, NJ. Edward loved his family and showed kindness to all. He came to Oakwood at the close of his life to spend his last days with his daughter and grandsons. Edward was a lifetime member of the Teamsters Locals 560 and 641, the Old Guard, Chapter 23, Pine Barons. He served in the United States Army Air Corp as an Aircraft Mechanic stationed in England from November 1942 through August 1945. Edward earned the American Service Medal, EAME Medal, Good Conduct Medal and WWII Victory Medal. Edward was preceded in death by his brother, Ken Reuter and his faithful companion, Roxanne. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Veronica; daughters, Carita O’Connell of Lodi, NJ and Bernice (Frank) Loiacono of Oakwood, OH; son, Edward J. (Clara) Reuter of Paramus, NJ; 6 grandchildren, Kathleen O’Connell, Patricia O’Connell, Justin Loiacono, Brendan Loiacono, Erica Reuter and Jessica Reuter; great-granddaughter, Channa McGuire; and nieces and nephews Ken, Carol, Bernadette, Stephen, Barbara, Carol, Marian, Kathy, Blanche, Bebe, Billy, Lynne, Robert, Gail and Christine. Services will be held at the family’s convenience. Mr. Reuter will be buried at the National Cemetery in Arneytown, NJ. Condolences may be sent to the family via the website at www.routsong.com.
