Edythe Renee Martin

MARTIN, Edythe Renee, age 93, a longtime resident of Bethany Lutheran Village passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2016. She was born to the late Wilbur and Martha (Randolph) Benson in Uniontown, PA on June 27, 1923. Edythe was a Stephens Minister at Westminster Presbyterian Church and coordinated the use of the church buses for several years. She volunteered with "Meals on Wheels" in Lower Burrell, PA, was secretary of Grace Community United Presbyterian Church and an accomplished seamstress and embroiderer. She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth E. Martin and sisters, Gladys Benson McGuire, Pauline Benson Lamb, Lois Benson and Mildred Benson. Edythe is survived by her daughters, Carol Martin of New York City and Holly Martin of Miami Twp. and several nieces and nephews. A private visitation will be held at Routsong Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 2:30pm on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 125 N. Wilkinson St. Dayton, OH with a reception to follow at the church. Burial will be held at David's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Edythe to SICSA, 2600 Wilmington Pike, Dayton, OH 45419 or to a local pet organization or charity of your choice.
