MEYER, Eugene Henry, age 87, of Centerville, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2019. Eugene was born on June 20, 1932 in Dayton, OH. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Eugene was a lifetime resident of the Dayton area. He worked at NCR for over 25 years before starting his own business, Custom Automatic Machine. He retired in 2001. Eugene was a long-time member of the Church of the Incarnation in Centerville.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, Garard and Mabel (Borgert) Meyer; brother, Alfred Meyer; and sister, Rosella Faulkner. Eugene is survived by his wife, the love of his life for over 64 years, Marlene Kay (Bollinger) Meyer; brothers Ralph and Leroy Meyer; children William (Kathie Peterka) Meyer, Lisa (James) Markham, Christopher (Crystal) Meyer; grandchildren Michelle (Scott) Lippert, Jordan (Mackenzie) Meyer, Alex (Christine) Meyer, Brian (Elisabeth Penn-Jones) Markham, Jeremy (Hillary Lovell) MacNealy, Shanna (Ken) Justice, Malia (Jordan) Whipps; eight great grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Eugene’s talents and passions were many. He was most passionate in his love for family, evidenced by the way his face would light up at the sight of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He especially loved family gatherings, birthday parties, dinners out and sharing donuts.
Visitation will take place from 5-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 1st at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St, Centerville, OH 45459. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 2nd, at the Church of the Incarnation, 55 Williamsburg Lane, Centerville, OH. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Dayton, OH, following mass. In memory of Eugene, donations may be made to the National M.S. Society or Shriners Hospital for Children.
