Evangelyn E. ''Nickie'' Vollrath

(Nicol), age 85, of Wood Glen Nursing Center and formerly of Washington Twp. and Kettering, Ohio, passed away after a lengthy illness on Monday, January 7, 2002. Nickie was born in Marysville, OH on August 30, 1916 to the late John and Magdalena (Kandel) Nicol. She was a graduate of White Cross Hospital School of Nursing as an RN in 1938. Nickie was a life member of Riverside White Cross Hospital Nursing Alumni Association, charter member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, where she was the first organist, and a Campfire Girls Leader for 10 years. Nickie is survived by her husband of 60 years, Werner W. Vollrath; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth J. and Kathleen A. Vollrath of Centerville, OH; daughter, Melinda S. Wilson of Swanton, OH; 3 grandsons, Peter and Jill Wilson of Luckey, OH, Anthony Wilson of Seattle, WA and Kevin Vollrath of Covington, KY; 2 great grandchildren, Avery and Madeline Wilson of Luckey, OH; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM, Thursday, with a visitation one hour prior to the service at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 901 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, with Pastor Thomas D. Prochaska officiating. Friends may also call from 5:00 - 7:00 PM, Wednesday, at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. Burial at Miami Valley Memory Gardens. The family wishes to thank the staff of Wood Glen Nursing Center for their loving care of Nickie.
