Gwendolyn Jean Waltz

March 29, 1934 — September 15, 2020

WALTZ, Gwendolyn J. (Miller), age 86, of Oakwood, Ohio passed away the morning of Tuesday, September 15, 2020.

Gwen was a proud Redhawk. She graduated from Miami University with a degree in accounting in 1957. Gwen met the love of her life, Victor “Bud” Waltz, at Miami University. The Miami merger lasted until his death in 1997. Gwen worked as an accountant and bookkeeper, later becoming the CEO of Precision Gage and Tool Company, where she worked alongside her daughter Vicki. Gwen was a kind and generous person. She had a gentle nature, a mischievous twinkle in her eye, and a sparkling sense of humor.

Gwen was a wonderful mother and grandmother, never missing her children’s tennis matches or her granddaughter’s hockey games. Her grandson remembers her as the most thoughtful giver of gifts and hugs. If her loved one’s were in need, she was there by plane or car, all you had to do was call. Gwen’s love of dogs is well known. She spent many years walking the sidewalks of Oakwood with her four-footed children. Up until the last days of her life she always inquired about her grandchildren and asked who was caring for the dogs.

Gwen enjoyed playing tennis, camping, and being on the water with her family. She sewed the most beautiful clothes and designed some awesome Halloween costumes. Gwen loved Miami football and basketball, much to her Bobcat daughter Kris’s chagrin.

Gwen was preceded in death by her husband Victor R. Waltz, her parents Dorothy and William Miller, and her siblings William Miller Jr. and Marilyn Walther. Gwen is survived by daughter Victoria Waltz and her daughter Bella Waltz; daughter Kristin Waltz and her son Eli Sennhauser.

She was our shining light.

Because Gwen would want everyone to be safe, we will not be holding a public memorial at this time. Please hold her in your hearts and prayers. If desired, friends and family may make donations to Hospice of Dayton or the Vic and Gwen Waltz Scholarship Fund at Miami University (2764-001), Murstein Alumni Center, 725 E.
