Henry Joseph Hoying

June 7, 1921 — October 18, 2004

HOYING, Henry Joseph, age 83, of Kettering passed away on Monday, October 18, 2004 at Kettering Medical Center. Preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Anna Hoying. Henry is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nancy (Hanes) Hoying; his children, Timothy (Nancy) Hoying of Chicago, and Sarah (Tom) Gallop of Los Angeles; and grandchildren, Oliver and Lucy Gallop, and Rachel, Ryan, and Megan Hoying. He graduated from Fort Loramie High School in Ohio and the University of Dayton, and received his MBA from the University of Chicago. He served as a Navy pilot during WWII, retiring as a Commander after twenty years in the Naval Reserve. He was an executive with NCR for 40 years, and in his retirement was an active member of the Western Ohio Woodworking Club. The family will receive friends and family on Wednesday, October 20, 2004 from 4 to 7:00 PM and from 9:30-10:30 AM on Thursday, October 21 at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, at 11:00 AM at Holy Angels Church, 218 K Street, Dayton. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the University of Dayton, 300 College Park St., St. Mary’s Hall, Dayton, OH 45469-1637, or the Ohio Parkinson’s Foundation Southwest Region, Inc., 325 N. Third St., Fairborn, OH 45324-4959.
