Irene J. Davis

DAVIS, Irene J., age 79, passed away on Monday, September 29, 2014. Irene was born in Chicago, IL, on August 16, 1935, to Anastasia and John Maniatis. She was the loving wife of Pete; the wonderful mother to Ernie (Elaine) and John (Mimi). Proud grandmother to Danielle, Natalie, Alex and Nicole. Devoted sister to Mary (Alex), the late James (Francis) and the late Dan (Sophia). Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much. Irene married Pete in 1956 and moved to Dayton. Over those years, she was devoted to her family, her friends, Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, her Young at Heart friends, her fellow volunteers at Miami Valley Hospital and her fellow cancer patients. Her ever-present smiling face and positive attitude made friends instantly, and her infectious personality endeared her to everyone she met. Irene loved life and brought joy to everyone she met. She was the "life of the party" and will be missed dearly. The family will greet friends from 3:00-7:00pm on Sunday, October 5, 2014 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 East Stroop Rd., Kettering with Trisagion Prayers at 5:00. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, October 6, 2014 at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 500 Belmonte Park N, Dayton, OH 45405. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery.
