Irene Mildred Burns

BURNS, Irene Mildred, age 97, of Centerville, passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2010. Irene was a member of Dayton Woman's Club and Steele Sewing Society. She enjoyed her Steele High School friends, getting together many times a year for over 70 years. Irene was also a 50+ year member of P.E.O. She is preceded in death by her parents Valentine and Hertha Gleim; husband Bryson V. Burns, and Patsy's husband Dr. Lawton Gerlinger. Irene is survived by her daughters Nancy (Dr. William) Ritz and Patsy Gerlinger; grandchildren Dr. Nicholas (Jill) Ritz, Dr. Daniel (Becky) Ritz, Dr. Patricia Goodman, Lawton C. (Marisa) Gerlinger III, Brooks B. (Alicia) Gerlinger and Gregg B. (Carolyn) Gerlinger. Irene has 18 great-grandchildren: Arielle, Nathan and Abigail Ritz, Alana, Bryson, Andrew, Tiffany & Victoria Ritz, Meghan Goodman, Trelyn, Lawton & Landen Gerlinger, Brandon, Collin & Kelli Gerlinger, Grant Gerlinger, and Brandon and Bryant Foreman. She is also survived by 4 great grandchildren: Adam and Ethan Ritz, and Landon and Karter Rarick. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 4:30PM, including a P.E.O. service, at Woodland Mausoleum, 118 Woodland Ave., Dayton. Family will greet friends 30 minutes prior to the service.
