Jacquelin Duberson Hale

HALE, Jacquelin Duberson “Jackie”, age 88, of Monroe, passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2021. Jackie was born to the late Charles and Claire (McMinn) Duberson in Atlantic City, NJ on January 2, 1933.

She graduated from Hammonton High School in Hammonton, NJ, earned her B.S. from Douglass College of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ and her M.A. Summa Cum Laude from Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ. Jackie was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Middletown and an Ordained Elder in the Presbyterian Church. She was also on the Education Committee of the Session of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Cherry Hill, NJ. Education was the focus of Jackie’s professional life. She developed Gloucester City Adult High School and served as principal from inception to her retirement in 1997. Jackie was also the Director of Curriculum for the Gloucester City School District and recipient of the Outstanding Leadership Award by the Association of Adult Education of New Jersey. She was a designated Diplomate in Education Administration by the American Association of School Administrators and elected to Phi Delta Kappa, the national education honorary fraternity. As a young athlete, Jackie was very involved in high school sports and continued to swim well into her senior years. She enjoyed the luxury of traveling, attending theatre and concerts, fine dining, wine tastings, readings, and time with grandchildren. Jackie was an amazing knitter who created custom socks for family birthday gifts.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard P. Hale, II; grandchildren, Laura E. Agnew and T. Chase Hale. Jackie is survived by children, Susan Grace Hale (Mark) Raiche, Richard Phillips (Denise) Hale, III, Stephen Castles (Vikki) Hale; grandchildren, Stephanie Louise (Patrick) Daly, Jonathan Andrew Hale, Cierra Marie Hale, Richard Garrison Hale, Blaise Castles Hale; great-grandchildren, Nora Grace and Lauren Elizabeth Daly; nieces, Suzi Duberson Waters, Kelly Duberson (Tom) O’Rourke.

Private family services are in the care of ROUTSONG FUNERAL HOME, KETTERING.
