James E. Christian

Christian, James E., age 93, of Springboro, passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at home with his family at his side. Jim was born on November 20, 1923 in Clovis N.M. to James and Cynthia Christian. Jim was a true Patriot. He served as a crew member in B-24s during WW 11 and made numerous bombing runs in Germany. Later became a police officer in California. Joined back in to the U.S. Air Force and worked in security forces. Jim deployed to the Vietnam War twice and also was part of Air Force 1 staff for President Nixon. Preceded in death by his wife, Shirley, who passed two days before Jim and parents. He is survived by daughters, Dawn (Pete) Rensema and Tracy (Tom) Zerba; step-son, Dana (Susan) Christian; grandchildren, Grace, Peter and Jamie; and step-grandchildren, Stasha, Lauren, and Fletcher. A private graveside service will be held at Dayton National Cemetery with Military Honors.
