Jeffrey Thomas Weller

Jeffrey “Jeff” Thomas Weller, age 49, of Centerville, Ohio passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021 after a prolonged battle with Multiple Sclerosis and Central Cord Syndrome. He graduated from Centerville High School in 1989 and attended University of Dayton where he studied Mechanical Engineering and Mathematics, and Wright State University for Computer Science.

Through his work at Valeo Automotive Systems in 1999, he received a US Patent for a drive gear utilized in vehicle window drive systems. He had three other patents pending. Jeff commuted to Cincinnati from Dayton for 12 years where he worked as a software engineer at Structural Dynamics Research Corporation (SDRC), which transitioned to Electronic Data Systems (EDS) and finally became Siemens Corporation where he specialized in IDEAS CAD software. Jeff medically retired in 2015 from Siemens.

Jeff was a devoted family man who loved cuddling his four Border Collies, traveling to Outer Banks, NC, reading science fiction and volumes of books on astronomy and the space program, watching nature and Sci Fi shows and movies, and following Premier League Football (Go Liverpool!). He enjoyed taking online astronomy classes through Stanford and amateur Hamm Radio. In 2015, Jeff played a critical role in creating and supporting the technology and administration for the family’s medical business, Weller Health Transitions, a healthcare company serving the Dayton community nursing homes and assisted living facilities.

He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 26 years, Christine (nee Buchanan) Weller; children, Johnathan “Jack” Michael and Luke Nathaniel Weller; his parents, Thomas Lee and Patricia (nee Heier) Weller; his mother-in-law, Diane Buchanan Johnson, and step father-in-law, Robert E. Johnson, his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kevin and Julie Buchanan; and his nieces, Colleen and Rachel Buchanan.

In celebration of Jeff’s life, his family will receive visitors from 5:00 to 8:00pm on Monday, January 25 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Road, Kettering, Ohio 45429.

Memorial services and internment will be held privately at Calvary Cemetery, Preserve at St. Kateri, Dayton, Ohio.
