John R. Loesch

March 1, 1950 — November 20, 2020

LOESCH, Dr. John Robert, age 70, of Xenia passed away at home, surrounded by love and peace on Friday, November 20, 2020. John was born on March 1, 1950 in Akron, OH to Robert and Elizabeth Loesch. He attended the Illinois Institute of Technology and graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry. He was a skilled and caring optometrist who loved his forty-four year career in private practice. He took joy in interactions and conversations with his patients, who adored him.

John was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife, Judith Pistilli; children, Bradford Loesch and Nikki Loesch; brother, Gregg (Sandra) Loesch; nephews, Matthew and Christopher Loesch.

John prided himself on being a renaissance man. He had a keen intellect, an insatiable curiosity for science and a deep appreciation for art and music. He could repair anything (without even using duct tape!). John was a private pilot and enjoyed flying, cycling, mountain biking, hiking and photography. He strongly believed in environmental responsibility and sustainability. John and his values will live forever in our hearts and in our lives. A private memorial service will be held in the spring.
