John Stefan Maas

MAAS, John Stefan, age 76, of Centerville passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2018. John was born on February 20, 1942 in Austria to Anton and Magdalena (Boulanger) Maas. He graduated from Fairmont High School in 1960 and also from Allied Institute of Technology. John was a member, and usher at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. He loved playing soccer and enjoyed refereeing for games. John coached womens soccer at Fairmont West, Fairmont, and Wayne High School for many years. John was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife, Diane M. (nee Hodgkinson); daughters, Jackie (Brad) Ferguson, Lisa Maas; granddaughter, Ashleigh Hubbs; siblings, Katharina Gjarmati, Magdalena Habodasz, Frank and Henry Maas, Barbara Dahlinghaus and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 5-8pm on Thursday, August 30, at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E Stroop Rd, Kettering. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held the following morning at 10:30am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6245 Wilmington Pike, Centerville, OH. Burial at Calvary Cemetery.
