Joseph Ramsay "Mac" Mcgregor

McGREGOR, Joseph Ramsay, "Mac," age 95 of Dayton, died on Wednesday, January 9, 2013. Born in New York City on May 8, 1917 to William D. and Marjory H. McGregor, he grew up in Montclair, New Jersey, and was educated at the Lawrenceville School and Pace Institute. He moved to Dayton, Ohio in 1951, retiring from a career as a CPA in 1990. He served as a Director of Industrial Grinding and Specialty Papers Co., the Dayton Senior Citizens Center, and Amole, Inc., Treasurer of the Dayton Council on World Affairs, and Trustee of the Miami Valley School. Mac was also a member of the Miami Valley Hunt & Polo Club (where he served as President and longtime Treasurer), the Dayton Country Club, the Buz Fuz and the 49ers. Preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Lucia, and his sister, Margot, he is survived by his four daughters and their husbands, Helen and Roc Caivano of Bar Harbor, ME, Marjory and Roland Redmond of Missoula, MT, Katharine and Michael Bolan of Bay Village, OH, and Jennie and Andr Bernard of Hastings-on-Hudson, NY; his grandchildren, Katharine (Ben) Macko, Chloe (Andrew) Warner, Lilly Caivano, Sophia Redmond, Samantha Bolan, David "Mac" Bolan, Lucia Bernard and Elizabeth Bernard; his great-grandchildren, Ferris and Lily Warner and Juniper Macko; and numerous nieces and nephews. He enjoyed tennis, cards, and crosswords. He was a much loved and respected man. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013 at 3:00pm at Woodland Cemetery Chapel with Rev Dr. George H. McConnel officiating.
