Kenneth Lee Petry

PETRY, Kenneth Lee, age 76, of Kettering, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2016. He was born on November 20, 1939 in Dayton to the late Cecil and Ada Petry. Kenneth served in the United States Navy during the Cuban Crisis and retired from RTA after 32 years. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed watching Nascar and boat races, and loved flying model planes. Kenneth spent time as a volunteer for the Kettering Fire Department and also volunteered for SICSA. He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Valerie. Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Norma Petry; son, Brian (Tracy) Petry; and grandchildren, Isabella, Aaron, Jacob, Taylor, Megan, and AJ. The family will greet friends from 5:00-7:00pm on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. A funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, September 29, 2016 also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Miami Valley Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio Street, Suite 500, Chicago, Illinois 60611-3201. The family would like to thank the staff at Miami Valley Hospital and Kettering Medical Center for all their care, especially Tiffani, the night nurse in the Kettering CTCU.
