Lawrence Richard Smith

SMITH, Lawrence Richard, “Ducks”, age 79, of Jeffersonville, Oh, passed away Monday, February 15, 2021. Richard was born July 9, 1941 in Fayette County to Lawrence and Louvenia (Stephenson) Smith. After graduating high school in Jeffersonville, he became a certified electrician. Richard retired from Armco Steel, and worked at Southern State Community College in the Maintenance Dept. He was a member of Church of Christ in Jeffersonville and a supporter of Future Farmers of America. Richard was a nature-loving, devoted family man who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Louvenia Sackett. Richard is survived by his wife, Judith; children, Judith (Robert) Piatt, Michael (Nancy) Smith, Jodi (Rob) Shaw, Shelly (Lance) Lamers, Shawn (Melinda) Smith; sisters, Helen Roskos, Francis Brown, Carol Coats, Maxine Vogal; brothers, Gary Smith, Jim Smith, Kenneth Smith, as well as several beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Private family services are in the care of ROUTSONG FUNERAL HOME, KETTERING.
