Lawrence V. O'Neal

O'NEAL, Lawrence V. "Larry", age 79, of Centerville, passed away on Saturday, April 08, 2017. Larry was born on October 3, 1937 in Dayton to the late Elmer and Phyllis (Hoog) O'Neal. He graduated from Chaminade High School, class of 1955. Larry attended the University of Dayton for his undergrad and graduated with his Master's degree. He retired from Redicon Corp. in 1999 after 24 years and was past President of Kettering Rotary. Larry loved traveling to numerous wonderful destinations, such as Gatlinburg, TN, and was an avid UD Basketball fan, being a season ticket holder for over 30 years. He was a loving, dedicated, family man who took great joy in spending time with his grandchildren. Larry is also preceded in death by his nephew, Kevin Lapp. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Ruth (Kettler); children, Becky Chestnut, Ken (Sherri) O'Neal, Ron O'Neal, and Shelley (Greg) Mahle; grandchildren, Drew Chestnut, Jessy (Kyle) Streetz, Caitlin O'Neal, and Sam Mahle; step-grandchilden, Robert (Nicole) Harris and Elizabeth (Kyle) Markowski; sisters, Marlene (John) Lapp and Sharon O'Neal; and nephew, Brian (Andrea) Lapp and their children Tanner and Megan; great-grandchildren Sophia, Natalie and Elon. A visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00pm on Monday, April 10, 2017 at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St., Centerville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 9579 Yankee St., Springboro. The family would like to thank Dr. Sheth and his staff at Greater Dayton Cancer Center for all their care, as well as the staff at Hospice of Dayton for their comfort and care.
