Marcella C. "Marcy" Wilson

WILSON, Marcella C., age 80, of Kettering passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2019. Marcy was born on March 13, 1939, in Batesville MS, with 3 sisters and 3 brothers and lived on a working cotton farm. She graduated from Batesville High School where she played guard for the women’s basketball team. She moved to Memphis TN, married her husband, Don, and had 2 daughters, Lisa and Shay, before moving to Shelbyville TN and having a son, Woody. The family later moved to Dayton OH where Marcy remained until her passing.

Marcy was a member of Central Presbyterian Church in Moraine where she served as Church Treasurer and was on the Finance Committee. She previously worked as an RN at Good Samaritan Hospital for over 20 years and treasured her many friendships with former nurse colleagues. Her additional passions were working in her beautiful flower garden, traveling in the U.S. and abroad, and talking about her adored grandchildren.

Marcy is preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Don Wilson; and daughter, Lisa Wilson. She is survived by her daughter Shay Hurst; son Woody (Monica) Wilson; grandchildren Elizabeth Dicus, Michael Hurst, Stephanie Hurst, Ashley Wilson and Lauren Wilson; great-granddaughter Ioma Held; and many extended family members and loving friends.

Visitation with the family will be held Friday, June 14, 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd in Kettering. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 15, 11:00 a.m. at Central Presbyterian Church, 4699 Lamme Rd, in Moraine, with graveside burial immediately following at David’s Cemetery, 4600 Mad River Rd in Kettering.
