Marilyn Clare Berger

BERGER, Marilyn Clare, age 90, of Riverside, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2017. She was born on March 12, 1927 in Cincinnati, OH to the late William and Mary (McCoy) Goddard. Marilyn graduated from Our Lady of the Angels High School in Cincinnati and attended St. Elizabeth School of Nursing and the University of Dayton. She was a member of St. Helen's Catholic Church in Riverside where she was active in the Alter Rosary Society and sang bass in the church choir. Marilyn was also a charter member of the Kettering Community Chorus, a member of the Leisure Club, President of The Women's Democratic Club in Riverside, and Vice-President of The Women's Democratic Council in Dayton. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond Koerner; second husband, Vernon Berger; son, Paul Koerner and sister Doris Lambing. Marilyn is survived by her children, Cynthia (Tom) Fortener, Deborah Stoner, Gregory (Shirley) Koerner, Stephen Koerner, Anita Koerner, Nancy Vallerie, Janet Koerner, Pamela (Michael) Friedline; 15 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brother, Jerome Goddard; brother-in-law, Peter Lambing and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will greet friends from 6:00-8:00pm on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 East Stroop Road, Kettering. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at St. Helen Parish, 605 Granville Pl., Dayton with a visitation one hour before the service at the church.
