Marlene Loretta Fayak

FAYAK, Marlene Loretta (Kozlowski) age 87, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 10, 2019 while living at the Suites of Walnut Creek. Marlene was born on September 12, 1931 in Cleveland, OH to the late William and Helen (Funk) Cuff.

Marlene lived in Cleveland until 2012 when she moved to Dayton to be closer to her family. In the Cleveland community, she will be remembered for her kindness to many, many years as a bank teller at Society National Bank (Key) and her volunteering at Hillcrest Hospital. She will always be admired for her dedication to family and her special love for all her children, especially the little ones. She cherished her ethnic heritage from which her many talents as a homemaker and seamstress evolved. A heartfelt thank you to Pat Waddell, her caregiver and devoted friend, Hospice of Dayton, and the staff in the Special Care Unit at the Suites at Walnut Creek. The family is most appreciative of how the WC staff members “held Marlene’s hand” through her journey.

Marlene was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Edward John Fayak and sister, Dolores M. Borowske. She is survived by her children, Deborah (James) Schlarb, Pamela (Scott) Hummel and Mark Edward Fayak; grandchildren, Matthew, Daniel, Benjamin, Elizabeth, Katherine and Katie; and 13 beautiful great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at the family parish, St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church in Highland Hts, OH 44143. Family will greet friends 1 hour prior to the service at the church. A luncheon will also be provided at Hilton Garden Inn (Cleveland East) 700 Beta Drive, Mayfield Village, OH 44143 after the service.
