Mary L Knoles

KNOLES, Mary L., age 91, of Kettering passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at Hospice of Dayton. Mary was born to William and Edith Wirsching on February 11, 1917 in Dayton. Mary was a graduate of Steele High School in 1935. She met Leonard P. Knoles in 1940 and they were married on November 20, 1941 at St. Andrews Episcopal Church. Mary and Leonard were avid travelers and were rarely seen apart. She was a long time member of David's United Church of Christ. Mary was a 73 year active member of the O.E.S. and also a member of many organizations; Charter Member and Past Matron of Harvest Chapter #564 O.E.S., Azizah Temple #57 Daughters of the Nile, the Kettering Senior Citizen's and the Underbidder's Bridge Club. Mary loved dining out, shopping and being with her friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Leonard on July, 23, 2008; parents, William L. and Edith Wirsching and one brother William K. Wirsching. She is survived by 2 sisters-in-law, Marie Wernersbeck of Burnsville, MN. and Elsie Knoles of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; nephew and niece, William K. Jr. and Mary Ann Wirsching of Columbus, OH and special friends, Bob & Angenette Carpenter. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 15, 2008 at 10:00 AM at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering with Rev. Rebecca Erb-Strang officiating. Burial in Woodland Cemetery. Family will receive friends Sunday, from 4-7:00 PM with Eastern Star services at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. In memory of Mary contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
