Mary Virginia Mercer

MERCER, Mary Virginia (Virginia), 95 years old, of Washington Township, passed away on October 30, 2015. While raising her children, she was a cashier for a dry cleaners and photography shop she and her husband started from their home. Later, she went to Cosmetology school and became an instructor and also had her own beauty shop. She also worked at Rikes for several years. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She loved clowns and collected them. She liked gardening and loved to travel and also did some sewing. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Herman; son, Wayne; and two sisters, Doris Frances and Arlene Bellman. She is survived by three daughters, Joycelyn Beavin, Elaine Wiedenheft (Ronald), and Lorene Cast (Earl); eight grandchildren, Pam Teyber (Bill), Christina Shively, Judith Willey (Jim), Holly Jenkins (Chris), Mark Wiedenheft (Julie), Diane Mercer, Tom Mercer and Bryan Mercer; nine great-grandchildren, Danny Teyber (Caroline), David Teyber, Cara Shively, Cameron Willey, Dylan Willey, Emma Willey, Avory Mayenschein, Cole Jenkins, and Alyssa Wiedenheft; and two sisters, Evelyn Stephens and Roselyn Truesdale. Services will be held at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St, Centerville, Ohio 45459 on November 5, 2015. Family will receive friends from 11:00am to 12:00 noon and services will begin at 12:00 noon, The Reverend John Mittermaier of Zion Lutheran Church officiating. A burial will follow at Willow View Cemetery, 2500 Neff Avenue, Dayton, Ohio. The family would like to give a special thank you to Hospice and Walnut Creek Nursing Home for their concerns and care of Virginia.
