ADAMS, Nancy Wells "Nan," age 80, passed away at Miami Valley Hospital, on Friday, October 9, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Day and Mollie Ericksen Wells. Surviving are her daughter, Sarah Miller (David), of Centerville, OH; son, Peter Adams, of Covington, KY; four grandchildren, Braden and Connor Miller, and Justin and Emily Adams. Nan was raised in Davenport, IA, received a B.A. from the University of CO, and M.S. from Syracuse University, and an M.A. from Miami University. For five years, she worked as an Assistant Dean of Women at The Ohio State University, and for two summers, directed the Greene County Head Start Program. For the past 31 years, she worked as a psychotherapist and Licensed Professional Counselor. Nan was a member of David's United Church of Christ, where she sang in the choir. She was also a member of the Dayton Christian Jewish Dialogue, the American Mental Health Association and the American Counseling Association. Memorial services to celebrate Nan's life will be held at David's United Church of Christ, 170 W. David Road, Kettering, OH, on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 11:00am with The Rev. Dr. Brian Q. Newcomb officiating. The family will greet friends following the service, at the church, until 1:30pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the outreach or music programs of the church.
