Norris E. Curry

CURRY, Norris E., age 88, of Somerville, OH, formerly of Centerville, OH, passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2018. Norris was born on December 13, 1930 in Danville, WV, to the late Edward and Reber (nee Stone) Curry. He graduated from Scott high school and went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in education from Marshall University. Norris served his country in the Army during the Korean War. After his service Norris became a teacher and taught at many schools including Kings high school, Washington Court House high school, and Warren County vocational school. In his free time Norris could be found gardening or chatting with his friends at Bill’s Donuts, or Frisch’s Big Boy . Norris was very funny and charmed many people with his quick wit, but most of all he was a very loving and caring Papaw to his grandchildren.

He is preceeded in death by his wife of 44 years, Margaret (nee Berry) Curry; and brothers, John, Darrell, and Thomas Curry. Norris is survived by his daughters Sandra (Jerry) Heyob and Linda (Keith) Shetzer; grandchildren, Kimberly, Katrina, Nicholas, Stephanie, Emily, Anne, Elizabeth, and Ellen; great-granddaughter, Chloe Lyn; as well as numerous extended family.

The family will greet friends from 10am-12pm on Thursday, December 27, 2018, at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St., Centerville, 45459. A service will follow with burial at Miami Valley Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave, Dayton, OH 45420. The family would like to thank the staff at Woodland Country Manor for all the support and care they provided Norris over the years.
