BAYER, Patrice Louise (nee Grismer), age 50, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at the Hospice of Dayton after a year-long battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born March 22, 1959 in Dayton, Ohio. She fought to live, but Patrice faced death bravely and with dignity. She is now in the arms of her loving mother, Alma Lou, who preceded her in death in 2007. She is survived by her devoted husband of 28 years, Andrew; her father Charles Griesemer; son and daughter-in-law Matthew & Molly Bayer; daughter Emily Bayer; dearly loved grandchildren Kayden and Owen; two brothers: Stephen Grismer & wife Terrie and Robert Grismer; two sisters: Mary Beth Christian and Nancy Treon & husband Phillip; special aunt Susan Corbett & husband James; her father- and mother-in-law William and Tina Bayer; brother-in-law Robert Bayer & wife Monika and sister-in-law Donna Keidel & husband Charlie; her nieces and nephews with whom she was especially close; dearest friend Joyce Fronzaglia & husband Stan; long-time friends Greg & Judy Powell and Red & Valerie O'Rourke; and her many aunts, uncles, cousins, other family and close friends. Patrice graduated summa cum laude from Troy High School in 1977 and earned a degree in finance from Wright State University in 1981. She was a member of WSU's Phi Mu sorority. Patrice was a recreation assistant at Washington Twp. Recreation Center for the past 16 years. She was a member of the Incarnation Catholic Church in Centerville. Patrice was bright, attractive, quick-witted, humorously self-deprecating and fun loving. She delighted in stylish clothes, wine, fine food, hot wings, being fit and always looked forward to "Monday night trivia", with the gang at O'Leary's Pub. She cherished her pets, Baxter, Annabelle & Chloe, and loyally supported the fine work of SICSA. Family will receive friends from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main Street in Centerville. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at the Church of the Incarnation, 7415 Far Hills Ave; celebrant, the Rev. Ryan Ruiz. Internment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Dayton the following day. A very warm thank you goes to the attentive physicians and compassionate medical staff members who cared for Patrice at OSU James Cancer Center, Greater Dayton Cancer Center, Kettering Medical Center and Hospice of Dayton.
