MESING, Paul Robert, age 68, of Washington Twp., passed away on Friday, July 24, 2020. Paul was born May 5, 1952 in Indianapolis, IN, to Carl and Helen (Walbert) Mesing. He attended Purdue University and worked as a computer programmer.
Paul received his Masters of Science in Business Administration from Indiana University and used that education to design systems for Fort Wayne heavy truck and Springfield Ohio assembly plant high-rise warehouses. During this time, he owned and operated a part-time systems consulting practice, d.b.a. Fort Wayne Business Systems.
In 1988, Paul, his wife Marilyn, and their children relocated to Centerville, OH, where Paul worked as Contract Manager for NCR. This position brought him many opportunities, allowing him to travel to Copenhagen and Scotland to represent the company. Paul had a long and successful career; he obtained many professional certifications, was invited to speak at various conferences, and had his work published in the APMP Body of Knowledge.
He enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including woodworking, bookbinding, and the study of genealogy. Paul also owned an impressive collection of books and guns, and was a member of the Ohio Gun Collector’s Association. A student of history, he was a member of the Selden Society of Queen Mary College of Laws, London, and Harvard Law School for the study of British constitutional history.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents, and his loving wife Marilyn. He is survived by his three children, Brian (Kristin) Mesing, Kristina (Robert) Hostetter, Laura (Charles) Cantrell, and four grandchildren.
