Philip H. Geiger

GEIGER, Philip Huffman, age 74, of Kettering, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2016 at Hospice of Dayton. Philip was born on October 10, 1941 in Dayton to the late Donald and Dorothy Geiger. He graduated from Oakwood High School in 1959 and went to earn his undergraduate from Miami University in 1963 and his Master's degree from NYU. Philip has worked as a Financial Advisor for what is now known as Wells Fargo for many years. He devoted many years to volunteering for Building Bridges and enjoyed playing golf at the Dayton Country Club. Philip was known to meet at Treasure Island daily with his friends for lunch, sometimes twice a day. He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Jr; and his grandparents who raised him after the passing of his parents, Henry and Ida Geiger. Philip is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Diana Geiger; son, Henry Geiger; step-children, Summer (Clint) and Jeremy; and his four-legged companions, Bugsy and Boo. A funeral service will be held at 5:00pm on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. Family will greet friends following the service for a celebration of his life. Burial will be at 10:00am on Friday, March 11, 2016 in Woodland Cemetery. For those who would like to attend, please meet at the gates at Woodland Cemetery at 9:30am. The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice of Dayton for the dedicated care they gave to Philip and the compassion that they showed to both him and his family.
