Ralph Edward Orndorf

ORNDORF, Ralph Edward, of Montgomery, Texas, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, November 17, 2022.


He was a devoted husband, father, opa, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend who will be GREATLY missed by ALL.

Ralph was born in Dayton, Ohio on May 10, 1934. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in Dayton in 1952.


He served in the United States Air Force from 1954-58, trained and worked on various aircraft as an aircraft electrician, and was discharged in 1962.


He worked at National Cash Register as a machine tool builder and retired from there in 1973 and then went to work at General Motors until retiring from there in 1996.

He was an avid private pilot and was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association Dayton Chapter 48 for over 60 years. He even edited their newsletter for 5 years. Ralph loved to paint, draw, cook, and spend time with friends and family. He could fix *anything*.


Ralph was a member of Millennium Lodge #779, The Valley of Dayton MSR where he was a recipient of the Meritorious Service Award, The Air Force Museum, The American Legion Post #598 in Kettering Ohio, Chapter 48 of the Experimental Aircraft Association, Cross Point Vineyard Church in Centerville, Ohio and Lonestar Cowboy Church in Montgomery, Texas.


He was preceded in death by his wife of 26 years, Nancy Jane Fellows Orndorf; daughter, Susan Jane Orndorf; father, Edward William Orndorf; mother, Estella Wallish Orndorf; brother, Ronald Lee Orndorf; sister-in-law, Judy Orndorf; and sister, Carol Orndorf Ulm.


Ralph is survived by wife of 26 years Sheila Steele Orndorf; daughter, Kimberly Wielkiewicz; son-in-law, Dr. Walt Wielkiewicz; brother, Norman; brother-in-law, Gary Ulm; nephew, Christopher Ulm; stepchildren, Lisa Welch (Mark), David Steele, and Sarah Hunter (Eric); grandchildren, Kristin Chaplin (Bart), Amanda Sherbourne (Chris), Molly Hunter, Ashley Norville (Randy), Tim Welch (Rebecca), and Beth Person; many great-grandchildren as well as nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.


Family will greet friends 2-3PM on Sunday, November 27 at ROUTSONG FUNERAL HOME, 2100 E STROOP RD, KETTERING. Funeral Services will be 3PM at the funeral home.
