KYVIK, Robert M., passed away Saturday, August 13, 2022. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Brown-Kyvik, their two children, Susan Dismukes (Scott) and Douglas Kyvik (Jina) plus their three grandchildren, Evan and Catherine Dismukes and Cory Kyvik. Bob was born in West Allis, Wisc., to Michael and Linda Kyvik but grew up in Fort Wayne, Ind., where he graduated from South Side High School. He received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and then moved to Dayton, Ohio, where he worked for DP&L. There, Bob was the District Manager in Xenia and Eaton districts and lastly an Account Manager as a liaison between DP&L and the seven General Motors Plants and Chrysler in the Dayton area plus Fram in Greenville, Ohio, and New Idea in Coldwater, Ohio. He also sang and performed in DP&L’s operettas and taught in their night school.

Bob was an active member in many clubs and organizations such as: The Engineers Club as a past board member, as well as on the executive committee, and Barn Gang, Rotary, IEEE and AIEE, where he was a past president, Jaycees, where he helped with the Soapbox Derby Races, Society of Automotive Engineers, where he was the past program chairman and helper in their Mini Baja Races near Troy, Ohio, Cox Arboretum, where he was the Past Chairman of the Helping Hands Group, Xenia Chamber of Commerce and was the recipient of their prestigious F.M. Torrence Community Service Award, Wright Brothers Seaplane Base, Inc., acting as both Board Chairman and member, Washington Township Zoning, and more. Bob was a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers. He has been president of Tri-State Chapter of the Studebaker Drivers Club and a board member of the Studebaker National Museum in South Bend, Ind, where his name can be found on a permanent plaque for being on the board. Bob has also represented the Studebaker Museum at the Studebaker Family Gathering in Tipp City.

He was a Master Mason of the Bolivar Lodge F & AM of Ohio in Eaton, Ohio, a member of Valley of Dayton A.A.S.R. and Antioch Shrine. He was a deacon and usher for both Shiloh Congregational Church in Dayton and Westminster Presbyterian Church in Xenia, Ohio. He has also done a lot of volunteer work and donated blood for many years. Bob enjoyed bowling, golfing, volunteering at the PGA and LPGA Tournaments held in Dayton, sailing, traveling, Volksmarches, Frank Lloyd Wright architecture, and collecting Coca Cola and Lionel Trains. He will be greatly missed.

Services will be graveside at David’s Cemetery on August 25, 2022, at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob’s name to The Studebaker National Museum, 201 Chapin Street, South Bend, IN. 46601 or Children’s Dyslexia Center of Dayton, 525 W. Riverview Ave., Dayton, OH 45405.
