Ruth Mae Dolle

DOLLE, Ruth Mae, age 99, formerly of Centerville, Ohio passed away peacefully Friday, January 22, 2021 at Hospice of Dayton.

A special “Thank You” to the nurses, doctors, and chaplain who cared for Ruth while at Hospice. Also, a very special “Thank You” to the caregivers and office personnel of the Golden Heart Senior Care for the loving care you gave Ruth. Thanks to Gem City Nurses, Ruth’s doctor and PA, and to the office personnel, staff and friends at the Wellington of Dayton for your love and care as well.

Thanks to those very close friends of Ruth’s that kept in touch by sending Christmas cards, birthday cards, thinking of you cards, and making phone calls and visits.

Because of all of you mentioned above, Ruth was loved and given the best care anyone would want. We were all wishing and excited to celebrate her upcoming 100th birthday on May 29th, 2021. So, happy early birthday, Ruth! We love you! We know you will be celebrating with your parents and friends in Heaven.

Ruth was a graduate of Oakwood High School in 1941. After graduation, she started college at Denison, then transferred to Ohio Wesleyan University, and received a Business Degree in 1945. She was a member of the Tri Delta Upsilon Sorority. After college, she became the business manager at her father’s optical business, the L.M. Prince Company located in downtown Dayton. After retirement, Ruth cared for her parents, Elmer C. Dolle and Alma H. Dolle. She was an active member in the Oakwood Methodist Church and sang in the church choir. Ruth became legally blind in 2014, which required special care, but she received an abundance of very special caregivers in return. Ruth loved to sing and happily entertained her caregivers by singing to them a large portion of her waking hours. Ruth, indeed, was so sweet and so sincere. Everyone loved her. She had a great sense of humor, loved to laugh, loved to sing and loved those who gave her the BEST care, love and friendship. You will be missed, dear Ruth, but never forgotten. Thanks Ruth for all the love you gave to us and all the wonderful memories we will always treasure in our hearts.
