Stephen Wayne "Steve" Roark

November 16, 1953 — September 3, 2022

ROARK, Stephen (Steve) Wayne, finished his journey on Earth Sept, 3rd, 2022 at 4:37am surrounded by the love of his family.

Steve was an incredible husband, together with his soulmate Pam for over 50 years. He was a loving father, brother, and friend. He was retired but during his career days he worked as the Director of Facilities at Colonial Senior Services. He loved his family, woodworking, music, guitar, model kits, “dead people” shows, eagles, boating and being in nature. Steve was musically gifted and could hear a song and play it from memory without being taught the music. In fact, he never actually learned to read music, but taught himself how to play by ear at age six. He could pick up any musical instrument and make it sing. His musical talent wasn’t his only gift, he created beautiful pieces of woodwork, could fix anything that was broken (including heartbroken teenagers) and even built his own guitars, creating custom tools to make the work easier and more detailed. Steve wrote and recorded his music with his family, something he told them he wanted to do so no one would forget him. His family will cherish these memories forever and he will never be forgotten.

He is survived by his wife Pamela Weik Roark. His children, Christina Sutherland (Keith Sutherland), Elizabeth Hulsman (Todd Hulsman), Mathew Roark (Whitney Roark).

His grandchildren, Willow Kuykendall, Rhowan Kuykendall, Tyler Hulsman, Caleb Hulsman, Abigail Hulsman, and Olivia Roark. His siblings Roger Roark, Terry Roark, and Debbie (Roark) Menke and their children.

He was preceded in this journey by his parents George Washington Roark Jr. VII, and Roberta Williams Roark.

The family will have a private gathering to share their memories and celebrate his life. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
